Save Or Spend?

When it comes down to fashion, it’s obvious that there are thousands brands some expensive and some inexpensive. While spending more money may limit the entertainment that week or require a little saving up, some items are worth the money, if you feel you will wear them.
In this post, we will go over the basic necessities of fashion and whether it is better to save or spend on items within that category.
        1. Denim- Jeans and other denim items are extremely popular in society today. Here is a category I would suggest spending a little bit more money to ensure quality or simply finding the pair of jeans which fits you best. Jeans of a higher brand will last longer and be a smarter purchase overall.  Always remember that quality beats quantity and if it is a highly used item the quality is extra important.
       2. Basics- Most basic items such as T-shirts, cardigans, solid sweater, etc are very inexpensive and will last for a very long time. These basics can be paired w…

Be Organized- If you find yourself overwhelmed when you try to look stylish, or if you constantly find yourself reaching for a basic T-Shirt, you most likely need organization in your life. A closet is not only the place where your clothes are stored. A closet is a place where the inspiration for fashion begins. It all begins with an organized closet. There are multiple ways to organize your closet, whether it is big or small.
Ways To Organize Your Closet
1. Color Coordination- while this is not the way my closet is organized, this method is highly used and is very helpful if you have multiple pieces of one color. Simply combine colors with colors of that sort. I would start with darks then go to lights. I do have my t-shirts organized this way.

2. Sort By Types- This is the way in which my closet is organized. I sep…

How to Achieve Texture and Hold in Silky Soft Hair

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog. Today's post is going to be all about getting Texture in silky soft hair. Aside from requiring limited care, silky hair can be a humongous pain for those who want curls, waves and definition in braids. If you have straight hair or hair which can be easily tamed I would recommend rocking your natural texture, however for special events or a dressier day, you can achieve the texture which is needed.

1 Apply Hold Prior to Curling or styling- I have super soft hair which usually requires very tight managed braiding and usually has no point in curling it. I have found that applying a brushable or flexible hairspray such as Aussie Mega Hairspray. This smells amazing and barely feels like hairspray. If you are styling wet hair or if you prefer styling gel over hairspray, feel free to use that, or you can use both for extra Hold.
        2. Use Texturing Products- if you enjoy voluminous braids or dry textured curls texturizing …

How To Care for Thick Wavy Hair

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog. Today we are discussing ways to care for your thick wavy hair.

       1. Clean- Depending on whether your hair is oily, dry, or combo you need to be sure to use a shampoo which is for that type. Also be sure to use shampoo for curly hair or a smoothing shampoo and conditioner. These will ensure that your hair is as best as possible. I do not have wavy or curly hair, but I do really love my hello hydration conditioner from herbal essences and I'm sure they have some for curly hair.
       2. After the shower- Here is the time to ensure that your hair does not turn out frizzy. If you shower at night run a smoothing oil or serum through the ends, brush it straight, and braid it while it is still damp. Sleep on that, by morning your hair should be dry if it is not blow dry on a cool setting and straighten/curl, or if you are happy with the way it looks, leave it natural. If you shower in the morning, after the shower decide how you …

We have to face it, back to school is upon us and most of us are not ready one bit. There are several ways to make going back to school a better process. One of those ways is by having amazing hair before your first day of school.

   1. Deep Condition- A few days before your first day of school, I suggest a deep conditioner or hair mask. You can simply buy one from the store, or you can make your own from ingredients you may have in your home already.
         DIY Masks
1. Coconut Oil- Take a big scoop of unrefined, cold pressed coconut oil. rub it into your hair and if you prefer to, put it into your roots. Leave it in for 2 hours all the way to overnight. Be sure to wash hair very well two times, then follow with conditioner.
